Yes, there are so much cultural similarities between these countries, and even places like Jamaica and Haiti. When it comes to reparations to be paid,, I hold my breath a little. Why should Europeans and American people pay reparations and not Africans. Is it because African countries are BROKE, foolishly fighting each other and among themselves and that there is nothing that they can afford to pay. Europeans were actively involved in the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade but who went into the Interior Forests in Africa to fight and capture other Africans and sold them into Slavery? It were the Africans who fought, conquered, killed each other, and captured defeated Africans to be sold into Slavery.
Prior to the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade, there was the Trans Saharan Slave Trade where the ancient kingdoms of Ghana, Mali, and Songhai sold other Africans into Slavery to the Arabs. This existed for Centuries before the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade.
Along the East Africa, Africans from that area sold their own to the Indians as Slaves. That is why we have Black Indians who are still very much disrespected and looked down upon in India. I don’t believe in, and subscribe to the payment of any Reparations, especially to Africans who sold their own into the various Slave Trades that were not illegal and wrong at that time. It is time that African countries stop talking about Reparations because they sold their own into Slavery.
I can boldly say that even if any Reparations are paid to African Countries, our corrupt and greedy Politicians will steal and take away everything as they are presently arbitrarily stealing from their own citizens and country. Africans sold out their own people and should not cry Wolf about the illegalities and crimes associated with Slave Trade between Africans, Europeans, Arabs, and Indians.

But it was the Europeans who came to Africa for the purpose of taking human beings to use as slaves. They needed people to do the difficult work for free, so they deceived and conquered the Africans for that purpose. The Europeans came with ropes, chains, muskets ready to steal and take with force. The Africans did not acustrate that evil deed. It was the Europeans who traveled to Africa to look for others to take advantage of. It wasn't the Africans who shipped people to Europe, or even informed the Europeans that there are free people to come and take them.
Blame the perpetrators not the ones who were clueless they were being bamboozled.
If the Africans gave people to the Europeans, that's because they eventually realized people were being captured by force, so they decided to get incentive out of what was already being done forcefully without any say on their part.

Thank you my brother, but today they put the blame on Africans when we didn't invited them with their shackles and chains. God will be our judge and he knows better.

The black people of the pacific Island and Australian aborigenes areas like Papua new Guinea,Nauru and Kiribati, the Solomon Islands etc have very distinct facial features that differenciates them from black Africans, so that issue does not arise.
Similarities or not, all of them from the entire caribbean and western hemisphere are from Africa, mainly west Africa, all what they need is to identify their tribes

I agree, they shouldn't pay a cent. Rather they should be made to apologise and recognise the Afro Africans living in Europe and America

Kudos to the Caribbeans especially the Surinamese. They are truly indigenous Africans both by blood and deed. I got to know about Surinam then as a young soccer enthusiast growing up as a boy , when I first saw Ruud Gullit and Frank Rijkaard (later Patrick Kluivert) during the 1988 European Cup, where they were instrumental in the winning of that championship by the Netherlands. The Commentator had mentioned they both like Kluivert later viewed, originally hail from Surinam prompting me to read about this beautiful Caribbean Island located in South America because of my love for the duo , as Blacks who were excelling among whites in world football as role models, since football was also the main game we played as children those days. One of the things that I noticed about them that fascinated me so much as a child who will join lots and lots of people behind a small black and white television in the neighborhood in Northern Ghana(specifically Upper East Region) to watch them play with massive support for the Netherlands (then Holland) due to them, were the typical traditional African beeds they often wore around their wrist, which was something commonly worn in the North for many reasons and strongly associated with most tribes in Northern Ghana.
The concept of Pan-Africanism can only be promoted by Pan-Africanists globally who should be courageous and proud to take up the fight to project the good image of the African continent, its heritage and its people. The Caribbeans by far are similar to us and identity more with us than the Black Americans, Black British and other Black Europeans and Americans in continental Europe and America. Unfortunately, the latter are the ones who suffer far more because of the inferior complex due to racial indoctrination and suppression by White Supremacists, who have succeeded in making even Africans (so-called blacks) believe we are inferior as humanbeings. They are also the ones who suffer the worse forms of racial discrimination and oppression for often refusing to resist and chosing tobe subservient to the White Man unconditionally, which in fact is still a form of slavery in modern times; mental slavery. The consequences of mental slavery are far more devastating than the physical form of slavery, the type our forebears and forefathers were subjected to, during the transatlantic slave trade along the West African Coast, birthing our relations, brothers and sisters in the Caribbeans, Europe and the Americas today. Even without any reward by way of compensation, financially or otherwise, the demand for reparation in itself is a good step to emancipate ourselves from mental slavery and give meaningful effect to our voices in global affairs. In line with the aforementioned, the best form of social justice for the grave injustice done to the African Continent through naked and ruthless exploitation of both human and natural resources, is to ensure we have economic freedom through fair policy and trade in the global market. To achieve this, we must first wean ourselves from any form of draconian aid or grant agreements by the Bretton Wood Institutions, the World Bank and the IMF and put in drastic measures to prevent looting and exploitation of our natural resources by powerful European and American Economic interest and industries. The best way we can do this is to enforce stringent anti-corruption measures by ensuring the National Anti-corruption Action Plan which is essentially a white paper doesn't remain a white elephant.
