Iran's standing has soared because not only did they survive the very severe onslaught from two great militaries including a superpower but they were also able to deliver serious amounts of damage and punishment to their foes. More importantly Iran was able to demonstrate convincingly it's ability to inflict catastrophic economic damage to its foes and their allies. IN THE END THE LAST POINT WAS THE DECISIVE FACTOR. CONTINUING TO FIGHT IRAN WAS NOT AN OPTION FOR ITS ENEMIES. IT WAS CERTAIN SUICIDE.
Hopefully lessons have been learned on all sides. The world simply cannot afford pointless and extremely destructive wars.
