Speaker Bagbin has disgraced himself again and this should be his last as speaker of Parliament. If the Human sexual family right bill was so important to him, won’t he wait and chair it. Such a smallish man wants to bully people in parliament. Now speaker wants UN inputs into the bill. He was not saying all those in 2024 bill, was he . Enough of Bagbin

Speaker Bagbin does not know that it's not because of his outstanding wisdom or intelligence that he became speaker, but by grace. That's why he thinks that a decision taken by parliament when his deputy was in the chair standing was not well done. Let him not deceive himself by thinking that he has a non-existent veto power to reverse the decision of parliament. Rather, he should humble himself and show respect to his colleagues in parliament.

Yes. The CHAIR on which the Speaker sits is NOT A PRIVATE OFFICE CHAIR. So the Deputy speaker who sat on the chair for the period of time he sat assumed the FULL POWERS as the RIGHTFUL OCCUPANT OF CHAIR of Parliament.

Speaker Bagbin has outlived his usefulness. It is not clear what he is about these days, except lose talk and empty legacy-seeking moves. He cannot be advocating for the Minority. Elections have consequences. So if the NDC decide to amend the original bill that they have now passed into law, it is not within the remit and power of the speaker to call for a revisit. Parliament operates not according to the whims or likes of the speaker but according to the wishes of the people represented by their elected representatives. If they are seen to have misused their powers, let them account to the people who elected them later, please.

If you think the Speaker doesn't know what's he doing, then you don't understand the intricacies of Ghana crooked politics. The Speaker was merely trying to throw a life-line to the President, sensing that the President's feet are growing cold by the day. The Speaker was trying to engage in politrix, whereby the bill would sent back from the Presidency to Parliament to be started all over, and within another two years, the President will be out of office while that useless bill still gets tossed around in Parliament. These are all crooked politicians, playing games with the minds of the people of Ghana. Unfortunately for the Speaker, Ghanaians are well aware that once a bill has been passed by Parliament, it must be submitted to the President for his action, and the President can either sign that bill into law or veto it if the bill is deemed to contain errors or not in the best interest of the nation. If the President signs the bill, then it becomes law; should the President veto the bill, then Parliament has a chance to once again give another try at enacting a bill with changes or simply letting the bill disappear into thin air.
