Many Ghanaians have become indiscipline bcoz of late JJ Rawlings dictatorial violent regime.B4 JJ's 20yrs rule Ghanaians knew how to do things without the state using violence or force to tell them clean their environment and there was respect for rules & laws.

Our house in Axim was flooded 16-days ago after ten locals decided to tear the roof off our house. They came before 7am. We are American investors who caught them in a land deal.
Five of them jumped me, threw me to the ground, and beat me -- a 63 year old Black American woman.
What did Axim police do?
1. Made me wait 36 minutes at the police station while they "sorted" their response. They were upset that our friends and team of workers from Esiama were already on the scene protecting my husband and our disabled son.
2. Arrived on the scene while two were still tearing off roof panels. Did not arrest them.
3. Only arrested 3 of the attackers. They once again refused to arrest "Honorable" Charles Arthur of Axim, a former Assemblyman for Lou Moon district. Not even for spitting in my face twice, like a mad animal.
4. Did not arrest Mr. Arthur after he attacked me at the hospital even though the hospital administrator reported it and Mr. Arthur admitted to the attack.
5. Arrested my 64-year old HUSBAND and ME for defending ourselves.
16-days and counting. Next time, I'm unleashing our 3 large dogs. The main reason I didn't this time is because I know Mr. Arthur carries a gun and likes to shoot dogs. People would have died had he shot our dogs -- starting with him. Then his teenage son and small daughter. Instead, I took the beating.
Next time someone comes to our house to attack us, my combat veteran husband will be throwing lead. It rained quite heavily that night. Three generations worth of goods that we shipped in from America were ruined by the water damage.
Unlike the poor Ghanaian, we could afford to stay comfortably in a hotel while our workers put on a new roof and rewired the entire house. ALL THEY DID WAS SCARE OFF AMERICANS WHO WERE PLANNING TO FOLLOW US. We planned to bring over doctors, engineers, and other professionals to join us in our 22-acre beach development.

You listen to this and you wonder whether it is worth constructing a $1.8b highway when citizens live in squalor. Misplaced priority.

That rainfall could have taken the whole Accra away into the sea.Bcoz the Akwapims are neat & discipline we could walk around town immediately after the rain.

This flooding is caused by residents own lack of respect for the law. They wake up in tbe morning and ypu see residents openly holding chamber pots and emptying tiolets from the chamber pots into gutters, they empty rubbish full of plastic bottles, pure watsr bags into the drains. All these floods everywhere what one sees floating on tbe flood waters is empty plastic bottles . The affected people shouldnt be helped. We ghanaians should learn from our own mistakes. Enough of blaming government for causing floods. If we the citizens cant learn to dispose our rubbish in the proper way. The go eenment should ignore them. This whole flooding is embarassing. Its about time the local assemblies strictly enforce. By laws on rubbish disposal in communities. Every household that has no bin collect arrangement should be punished.

I understand the tendency to speak bitterly in situations like this but floods can and do occur in every country. I have read of flooding in the places we call advance. Let us not run ourselves down that way with name calling. When problems arise, we should tackle it with a cool head.
Now who remembers Alaajo? Let those that know tell others.
Others can be handled equally effectively one at a time.
No country has stopped developing.
