We do that in Ghana and take it outside our borders.

@Dan, tell your useless bosses to move their lazy butt off their chair in the offices and go do site inspection on buildings being put up on waterlogged areas and stop asking their subordinates to always act as site inspectors when in actual fact, they only send them to go and write "stop work" on buildings then turn to collect money from property owners only to see workers continuing with construction the next day.
I know you Dan is one of the few "loyal saints" who doesn't go round taking money from developers on illegal sites.

So, if someone approaches a chief for land, the chief has every right to refuse to sell, if the chief knows very well that the land lies in a waterway.

You must be a very young man. When i was in secondary school in the 60s Mendskrom Hotel was one of the very few structures on that stretch and it used to host the black stars as camp. From there, past kasoa, Fetteh there were very few structures until Panbros Salt was constructed. That whole stretch was slated as flood-prone, earthquake risk zone by the white man who plotted the area in the Gold Coast. Gold Coast ooooo. That was when literacy was said to be low. With education on the rise see the foolishness 'educated people' have turned themselves into. Building in waterways.

Hanson KK please take advantage of free education and go back to school. It's feasibility studies not visibility studies. Were u there when they were building the dam? The problem with us is lawlessness and politics. Remember that our lands are not owned by the government but the chiefs or elders. Politicians can also use their influence to aquire lands at all cost. Late Sir John of NPP who was selling Achimota Forest lands to his cronies.

I really don't have pity for people in that area because they're supposed to know the risks involved in living downstream of a dam. Nadmo should not go there.
