Enoch Afoakwa, lawyer for KOKA, a staunch member of the New Patriotic Party, has debunked claims from a viral social media video alleging that his client was seen threatening a police officer.
In the video, KOKA was heard saying he would ensure that the individual involved would have “no peace and happiness” when his party returns to power.
“I will make sure I sit on your happiness in this country. You have a wife and kids, right?... You have already taken a side because the police are divided. We understand, but you know you have a family, and the police are divided, and you are just an officer, a civil servant. The battle has just begun,” he said.

Speaking on the development in an interview on Asempa FM, shared on X and sighted by GhanaWeb on May 25, 2026, KOKA’s lawyer stated that his client was not threatening a police officer.
According to Afoakwa, after KOKA was invited by the Ghana Police Service for questioning, he noted that the comments were directed at the party’s internal security personnel.
He explained that the individual KOKA was referring to is known as “Boryor” but is nicknamed “Police” within the party due to his role in the NPP’s internal security structure.

“He did not threaten anyone. He was speaking to one of our internal security officers, referred to as Boryor. He is called ‘Police’ because he is part of our internal security team.
“It was an interaction between party members, and they were not fighting. However, because the word ‘police’ was mentioned, the Ghana Police Service has taken an interest in the matter. We are waiting to hear what they will tell us,” Enoch Afoakwa claimed.
