I sympathize with the five people whose abode has been destroyed. I thank God that they are still alive. While continuous rain may be the immediate cause of this disaster, I think, we as nation, have to think seriously about how we are going to replace the old mud houses in our villages. They were built way back then. Thank God they have withstood the test of the times and the different weather patterns. But we cannot wait for another disaster to happen before we do something. If we were to have three to five days of continuous rain in greater part of the country, we would have a big national disaster in Ghana. What can we do about these mud houses before it is too late? Town planning? Municipalities? And private individuals?
