It's for the same reason that It's more advisable to make the presence of cctv cameras known and visible to all rather than to play them back only after the crime has been committed. Prevention, as they say, is always better than cure.

This is one of the most foolish actions anyone could take. He shared some details during the public accounts committee meeting, and I initially thought it was just a mistake. However, this careless move has shown me that he lacks a proper grasp of security, which is why he carelessly releases sensitive information. In other countries, he would likely be fired from his position for such actions.
