He was talking about struggling in the US. Education is the key to success. Graduates in Ghana will eventually get jobs once the economy grows. Government cannot provide jobs for all.

Many of those jobless Ghanaians in the USA are equally well educated, they migrated there without documents. Some would have stayed back home if the govt had created jobs. Don't think it's a joy to travel outside.

The value of any man's education is expressed in how he used his education to solved problems to lift people up. Under this premis most educated African political leaders, including Mr. Smith are useless. What is the value of their education if all they wanted to do was to become thieves, stealing from their government. Exhibition A. Ken Ofori Attah, Yale graduate, and a fugitive thief facing ICE.

What lies did NDC told the good ppl of Ghana to get their votes? Why are you soo wicked? Then Ghana and now, which one do you prefer? Your criminal organisation nppigs. What do you think if they had done good for the country, would have been the outcome of their regime? Energy sector, nothing, creation of jobs, nothing, infrastructure, nothing, economy, nothing, security, nothing, I mean name it apart from corruption and criminality. No government is perfect but your nppigs are just satan to Ghana and wont come close to power anytime soon, get that to your coconut head.

It’s rather unfortunate that we have a Ghana ambassador in the US who has no clue about the plight of Ghanaian immigrants. As an illegal immigrant you don’t have the option to continue your education until your legal status is in order. The fact they are hiding from ICE tells you the they don’t yet have the right legal immigration status to be able to stay, let alone go to school. Your disdain for Ghanaian immigrants is very obvious, since most of them don’t come from your political enclave in Ghana. If you have any advice, give it to your government to help provide hope for the citizens back home

The issues are not one size fits all. Those who swore to shove the twi down everyones throat to cover for their own illiteracy get a reality check. Some people are even locked out of the chance of taking a GED if their last academic level was four years behind. Basic education is a must but higher education is not for everyone. Learning a trade can also opens doors for success.

What an uninformed ambassador. Simple logic should tell Victor Smith that anyone playing hide-and-seek with ICE is almost certain to be in the country illegally. So how in his thinking would such persons enroll in a trade school or college, let alone apply for a job? The ambassador should not open his mouth if he doesn’t know what he is talking about. It’s not like California where such persons could possibly get a farm job planting or harvesting crops or vegetables. Some of these persons had work permits under the Biden administration but which were effectively nullified under the current administration. Grow up Mr. Ambassador.

Go to school? Will you pay for their tuition? Will you cure their immigration issues so that they can be admitted into these schools? If your embassy can't help them, then leave them alone as they try to navigate Trump's demented immigration ship. Many of the very ones that you speak very condescending of will one day make it successfully across Trump's turbulent immigration waters, and Ghana will be wanting them to help the country without even caring to know how they made it against all odds. You've always been a stomach politician, and your pathetic pronouncements surely do not fit your role as Ghana's Ambassador to the USA.

He doesn't know why he is talking about. I came to the US as a student but I was an engineer in Ghana and made good money. Had to stop the school because of the fees even after scholarship and being top of my class. Left after the first semester to another state close to some relatives. Started another school and had to drop out because of the fees. Took me about 10 years to get the green card .
During that period, I started a masters program and had to stop due to some spiritual issues from Ghana on two occasions that nearly caused me my life. Now, I have the book and the issues went stratospheric.
The advice I will give is not just go to school. Seek spiritual protection first because without that, you will be at the mercy of the wicked and evil ones back home.
Also, don't waste your time sending money to people back home. You will regret it.
Never marry anyone in Ghana whiles you are away, they will just come for your assets.
Have a plan to relocate back to Gh in three to five years and work towards that.
