1. Dangote refinery was initiated in 2013, while ghana petrol hub was initiated in 2019
2. Nigeria had all the advantages that could make it work. An oil producer with heavy consuming market which ghana don't have
3. Several oil and oil processing companies are in nigeria which ghana don't have
4. ghana has a demand of about 100000 barrels per day but wants to build 900,000 barrels with 3 petrochemicals and fertilizer plant. Who will buy it? Who will put his billions on petrochem when you can build it where you have large, I mean large natural gas fields where natural gas is cheap?
I hate self delusion

Stop the nonesense..typical Nigerian writing rubbish..the fact is is we need Ghanaians to also build refineries in our country..either the govt or private entities..it doesn’t make sense to allow foreigners to be building refineries in Ghana..just as now Ghanaian has the capacity to be controlling some of the mining sector..Dangote if he is making profits, is taking it to Nigeria..tell me you are Nigerian without telling me directly..Ghanaians will make efforts to build bigger refineries too..what do u know about Ghana..in the western region alone, do u know the resources there?

@ bitter truth: You think refinery building is a childs play. It took an institution like dangote GRP over 15 years to get $20B for a 600,000 barrel of fuel per day! Investors don't just put money in a business field that doesn't yield much income like ours with low market financial inflow. Three countries whose GDP are probably more than Ghana want to gather their resources and build one in East Africa ( Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda). Do you think it's easy? Western nations will first frustrate you. Ghana is battling with IMF burden on just $3B how much more investing billions of dollars that a refinery requires

First can anybody raise 20b dollars in ghana to build 600,00 barrels per day in ghana? You think 20b dollars is 20b cedis? Even established European and Asian banks will cringe!! Who in ghana can raise 1b dollars for a manufacturing project? I don't mean mining which you can do even with 1m dollars Dangote as an example almost killed himself
Secondly, where will you sell the products when your market is just 100,000 barrels per day? How many tons of poly do you demand?
Who will buy your petrochemicals with your high gas price when many countries are swimming in cheap gas like nigeria eq. Guinea Sao tome cameroon gabon congo and angola? With it be competitive?
Where will be the destination of the fertilizer and polypropylene? Russia that can supply the whole world? Brazil and Mexico that have gas? Europe don't even use chemical fertilizer any more.
Using Malaysia as example of oil and gas hub is no longer feasible. Malaysian industry was built on back of chinese and Indian markets. Today these countries are self sufficient.
You see I've noticed you to be an emotional person, a little bit above an animal(by your comments) you cannot live your life hating. Evidence should have told you you go nowhere hating nigerians. Today samad is building 600m dollars plant in niger, dangote is building another 17b dollars plant in East Africa, but you people have been shouting petrol hub over 10 years ago, what has happened?
