A middle-aged man has been declared wanted by the Western Regional Police Command of the Ghana Police Service for defilement.
According to a statement issued on Thursday, May 21, 2026, by the Head of the Public Affairs Unit in the Western Region, Superintendent of Police Olivia Adiku, the suspect, identified as Sule Anas, is wanted in connection with the defilement and unnatural carnal knowledge of two minors.

The police stated that the incident occurred at Fijai Zongo Central near Sekondi, where the suspect was employed as an Arabic teacher. He was hired by leaders of the Fijai Zongo Central Community to teach their children Arabic on weekends.
“The Western Regional Police Command has declared suspect Sule Anas wanted in connection with Defilement and Unnatural Carnal Knowledge of two minors at Fijai Zongo Central near Sekondi.
“The suspect, an Arabic teacher was employed by leaders of Fijai Zongo Central Community to teach their children Arabic on weekends,” the police said.
Police say the suspect lured the two minors into a store room inside the mosque where he told them he wanted to perform spiritual cleansing on them but instead sodomised and defiled them.
A warrant for his arrest was issued on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, by the Gender Court in Sekondi.
“Police investigation indicates that the suspect lured victims into a store room inside the mosque with the pretext of doing spiritual cleansing for them and ended up sodomizing and defiling the minors,” the statement said.
Providing more details about the suspect to the public to aid in his apprehension, the police described him as fair in complexion and about 5.7 feet tall and believed to be hiding in neighboring countries, specifically La Côte d’Ivoire or Togo.
“A warrant for his arrest was issued on Wednesday 20th May, 2026 by the Gender Court, Sekondi. Suspect Sule Anas is fair in complexion and about 5.7 feet tall. Information gathered suggest that the suspect may be hiding in La Côte d’Ivoire or Togo,” it noted.
Meanwhile, the police have appealed to the public for help regarding the suspects whereabouts.

“The Command is urging anyone with credible information on the whereabouts of suspect Anas Sule who is currently on the run to contact the Western Regional Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit, the nearest Police or call 191 or 112 for his arrest,” the statement said.
