The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has imposed strict sanctions on Ekumfi TI Ahmadiya Senior High School in the Central Region following alleged examination malpractice during the ongoing 2026 WASSCE for School Candidates.
According to a report by adomonline.com, on May 20, 2026, as part of the sanctions, all candidates from the school will no longer write their remaining examination papers on the school’s campus.
They have been reassigned to Mankessim Senior High Technical School, where the examinations will be supervised by a completely new set of invigilators and supervisors.
The decision was taken after two teachers from the school were arrested for allegedly compromising the French Paper 1 examination.

In an official letter to the school authorities, WAEC’s Central Regional Office stated that it could “no longer trust the integrity” of the school to conduct the examinations without malpractice.
WAEC has therefore directed the school’s management to make adequate arrangements to transport all affected candidates to the new examination centre at Mankessim Senior High Technical School.
Additionally, the school has been tasked with ensuring that all examination materials are transported from the depot to the new venue under police escort to safeguard the integrity and security of the papers.
However, WAEC has made an exception for the Chemistry 3 Alternative A practical examination, which will still be conducted on the premises of Ekumfi TI Ahmadiya Senior High School under strict supervision.
