Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Sam Nartey George, has dedicated Arsenal’s 2025/26 English Premier League (EPL) title triumph to the late former Defence Minister, Edward Omane Boamah.
Sam George, an ardent supporter of the English football club, made the dedication in a post shared on X on May 19, 2026, in memory of Dr Omane Boamah, who was also an Arsenal fan and died in a tragic helicopter crash on August 6, 2025, alongside seven other individuals.
Reacting to Arsenal’s long-awaited league success, the minister reflected on the late politician’s passing while celebrating the club’s achievement.
I have questions to ask God - Sam George on the death of Omane Boamah
“We are CHAMPIONS of England! Come on you Gunners! Dear Omane Boamah. This is for you! I know you are smiling where you are. Keep Resting In Power, Bro,” he wrote.
Arsenal secured its first EPL title in 22 years after closest challengers Manchester City dropped points in a 1-1 draw against AFC Bournemouth, leaving the Gunners four points clear at the top of the table with one game remaining.
The title victory also raises hopes of a historic season for Arsenal, who are set to face Paris Saint-Germain F.C. in the UEFA Champions League final on May 30, with a chance to win Europe’s top club competition for the first time.
