According to the lady, in a TikTok video, the incident happened around 7:30 PM while she was on her way to buy prepaid credit.

Recounting the incident, she said the man approached her and demanded her number but she refused.

“A guy told me he would kidnap me and I didn't take it as a joke. It was around 7:30, I was going to get pre-paid. I was with one little girl and then I met this guy. He was like can I have your number? I said no! I don't want to give you my number,” she said.

She explained that the man kept following her despite several warnings for him to stop.

“He was insisting and this guy was following me. I was like can you please go your way, I don't want you to follow me and it's late,” she stated.

The lady said the situation became frightening when the man allegedly threatened to abduct and sexually assault her after she got close to her house.

“When I got to where I was to branch, this guy went like, ‘You don't want to give me your number. I know where you stay. I'll kidnap you and I'll keep you in my room. I will sexually assault you and make you pregnant’,” she recounted.

She added that the man repeated the threats publicly without fear even after people nearby heard him.

“He just said it bluntly and boldly and I was like, what did you say? He goes like, ‘Yes, you heard me right. I said I will kidnap you, keep you in my room and I'll make you pregnant.’

“This should let you know where this person is from. He's from another country [a foreigner]. People heard what he said but he was not scared. He was repeating his remarks,” she added.

According to her, some young men in the area intervened after hearing the threats and helped her take the suspect to the police station.

“I was like, you think this is your country? I will report you to the police but he was laughing. He thought it was funny. So, thank God, the guys around heard him. They asked me what the guy said to me so, I told them… That's how we dragged this guy to the police station,” she narrated.

The lady disclosed that the suspect spent the weekend in police cells because the incident happened on a Friday evening.

“Unfortunately for him, it was a Friday evening. They kept him there [in cells] till Sunday,” she said.

She further stated that the police later granted him bail after some people came to assist him and also issued a restraining order against him.

“On Monday morning, they [police] asked him to call his people. He didn't even have anybody. Some young guys came there and then we were able to bail him.

“They gave him a whole lot of forms to fill, and a restraining order. So, please, if someone threatens you with anything at all, don't be afraid. Ghana Police is your friend. Report that person to the police and they will do what they needful,” she advised.
