About 30 members of the United Kingdom Royal Air Force have arrived in Sakpe in the Northern Region to build a multipurpose indigenous knowledge centre in memory of their late colleague, Air Specialist (Class 1) Samuel Odotei, who died in January 2025.

According to the post, the team arrived on May 7, 2026, aboard a C-17 aircraft as part of the memorial initiative, which aims to honour his life and service through a lasting community project.

The late Odotei, served as an Avionics tradesperson with 99 Squadron, based at RAF Brize Norton.
Originally from Barking and Dagenham, he joined the Royal Air Force in July 2021.
He completed Basic Recruit Training at RAF Halton in November 2021 before proceeding to the Number 1 School of Technical Training at RAF Cosford, part of the Defence School of Aeronautical Engineering, where he trained as an Avionic Tradesperson.
He excelled during his Phase 2 training, receiving multiple positive comments from instructors regarding his attitude, discipline, and overall performance.
In January 2023, he was posted to RAF Brize Norton, 99 Squadron, where he quickly became a vital member of the A-Shift Engineering Team.
