Strange that private Ghanaians can be let go from their jobs if absent for even a week, yet law-makers can be gone for months either doing nothing for the country or tending to criminal matters in far-off countries and still hold on to their jobs. And who then addresses the needs of constituents while these law-makers are gone for long periods of time?

For your info, the man was arrested not because he's an MP in Ghana, but because of crime he committed in the USA some 7 years ago. Remember also that unlike Ghana, where we sweep every crime under the carpet, in USA crime has no expiry date. Once you are wanted, anytime they get you, they'll arrest you.
Finally note that, being a lawmaker of one country does not give you the freedom/permission to commit crime in another country. And as matter of fact, lawmakers everywhere are the very people, who have to uphold law and RESPECT the laws of other countries.
