An old vehicle believed to have belonged to the late President of the Third Republic, Dr Hilla Limann, has resurfaced years after his passing.

The vehicle, an abandoned old green Nissan pickup truck believed to be a D21 “Hardbody” model produced between the mid-1980s and early 1990s, appeared to be in a deteriorated condition, with visible rust, faded paint, dents, and damaged body parts.

The front bumper and side sections also showed signs of damage, while some components were loose due to years of exposure.

The pickup, covered in dust with flattened tyres and damaged parts around the wheels and body, has been left parked in a corner at the former president’s residence in Gwollu in the Upper West Region.

The condition of the vehicle came to light after a visit by the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, and other state officials to the family home of the late former president.

According to her, the truck needs to be preserved in honour of the memory of the late former president.

“The vehicle belongs to the former President. We need to preserve it,” she noted.

Who really was Hilla Limann and why was he overthrown?

Dr Limann was buried at private burial ceremony in his home town, Gwollu in the Sisala District of the Upper West Region at midnight on March 1, 1998.
