The Managing Director of TGHoldings, Tunde Macaulay, has cautioned businesses against the use of gray market parts for printing machines, warning that the practice damages equipment and increases long-term operational costs.

Speaking at the launch of the Konica Minolta Print Experience Centre on Thursday, May 14, 2026, Macaulay said many businesses wrongly believe they are saving money by purchasing cheaper replacement parts from unauthorized sources.

“The gray market destroys your machines over time. You think that you're saving costs, but in the long run it destroys the very hardened machines that you've used your investments to make,” he stated.

He urged businesses and printing companies to patronise original Konica Minolta products and services through authorized dealers such as Skysat Technologies Ghana Limited.

“Come to Skysat, get the original part of Konica Minolta and we have the latest technology,” he said.

According to him, the company also provides modern software solutions that help customers improve efficiency and reduce operational expenses.

“We have the latest software to upgrade your machines and we can work with you to grow your business, to reduce your cost and to help you project your brand,” Mr. Macaulay noted.

He further highlighted the importance of quality packaging for Ghanaian products, stressing that many local products have the potential to compete internationally if supported with improved packaging standards.

“Again, for those who are manufacturing, we've got machines that print nice packaging. Ghana has good products, but sometimes it's the packaging,” he explained.

He stated that Konica Minolta machines are capable of producing high-quality packaging materials that can help Ghanaian businesses market their products to global standards.

“So, Konica machines produce good packaging materials for you to project your products to international standards,” he added.

Macaulay indicated that the launch of the Konica Minolta Print Experience Centre forms part of efforts to reposition and reintroduce advanced printing technologies onto the Ghanaian market.

“So that's the purpose of this reimagining Konica Minolta machines in Ghana,” he concluded.
