The founder of Glorious Wave Church International, Prophet Emmanuel Badu Kobi, has openly admitted to using spiritual intervention to counter and nullify a prophecy made by Prophet Bernard ElBernard Nelson-Eshun regarding the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries.
Prophet ElBernard had prophesied that Kennedy Ohene Agyapong would emerge as the NPP flagbearer.
However, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia won the position, a missed prophecy that led ElBernard to later issue a public apology.
Speaking to this matter in an interview with Blakk Rasta on the 3FM’s Urban Blend show on May 14, 2026, and shared on X, Prophet Badu Kobi admitted that he was responsible for ElBernard’s failed prophecy.
"I stood on the covenant with God. And then I said, 'God, this can't happen'. And God listened to me. So, I have told people around that Prophet ElBernard is a Prophet... but there was a prophet who said no.
"How can you say a man of God killed his own son and then you want to go and win elections? Never. Sometimes we don't talk, but when it comes to the work; we know how God moves, and His covenant, is with us. So, you cannot get it [position] while you have not come out to publicly admit that what you said is not true," he said.
FLASHBACK: Bawumia declared winner of NPP flagbearer election
When asked whether he had advised Prophet ElBernard to tell Kennedy Agyapong to apologise, Prophet Badu Kobi said he communicated in proverbs and expected the message to be understood.
Prophet Badu Kobi further claimed that the former Assin Central MP was destined to become the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) next flagbearer.
He alleged that an agreement he reached with Prophet Nigel Gaisie ultimately prevented Kennedy Agyapong from securing the position.
"When you are in the work for a long time, you speak in proverbs and I knew Prophet ElBernard understood the proverb. He wasn't supposed to become the President of Ghana. He was supposed to become the flag bearer. Yes. And I am saying this, I’m not afraid.
Prophet ElBernard apologises after failed election prophecy
"On Friday, two days before the elections, I met Prophet Nigel Gaisie, and we held hands. We agreed that he would not become the flagbearer," he added.
