Outspoken Ghanaian cleric, Prophet Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom, popularly known as Prophet Opambour, has shared his thoughts following the arrest and detention of Asante Akim North MP, Ohene Kwame Frimpong.
In a video shared on social media on May 14, 2026, Prophet Opambour, while speaking on his popular television show, expressed shock over the MP’s arrest.
According to the prophet, it is an embarrassment to the country for a sitting Member of Parliament to be arrested on foreign soil.
After being informed about the alleged charges levelled against OK Frimpong, Prophet Opambour questioned whether the legislator was mentally stable.

“Is he mad or something? They should add another handcuff to his leg,” he said.
Meanwhile, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor has stated that the MP’s legal team in Amsterdam has successfully gained access to the warrant, which was reportedly issued on April 26, 2026.
“The lawyers are just informing me that they have seen the warrant, and it was issued on April 26. So, even as a sovereign nation, I doubt whether we were informed in any way,” he said.
Parliament confirmed the detention on May 12, 2026, with Parliament Clerk Ebenezer Djietror stating that the Speaker of Parliament and the leadership of the House are in contact with Ghana’s mission in The Hague.
