Social media users, particularly on X, have expressed outrage over CCTV footage showing Police Inspector Bright Appiah Danquah allegedly robbing a Mobile Money (MoMo) vendor at gunpoint in Abuakwa, Kumasi.

The disturbing video captures the moment the inspector interacts with victim Victoria Arko.

In the over-one-minute footage, Danquah, wearing a green Lacoste shirt with a small side bag strapped across his body, is seen walking in front of the shop while holding a phone.

He then moves toward the back entrance, briefly entering a camera blind spot, before making a phone call.

He is then heard prompting the victim to look at something he was showing her.

The woman appears visibly frightened as she turns and obeys his instructions out of fear for her life.

The footage has since triggered widespread condemnation online, with many Ghanaians expressing shock and betrayal that a law enforcement officer entrusted with protecting citizens is allegedly involved in such a crime.

Others called for extreme punishment to serve as a deterrent.

One user wrote: “The same people trained and employed to protect citizens are now robbing them. So what kind of protection will we receive?”
