President John Dramani Mahama has shared a touching family moment on Facebook on May 8, 2026, following the birth of his new granddaughter, Thanina Gyamfua Mahama.

In a brief post, President Mahama expressed joy over his "grandpa duties", while congratulating his son, Shafik Mahama and his wife, Asma.

"Loving my grandpa duties. Congratulations yet again, S and A" he wrote.

On April 15, 2026, the president announced the birth of his new granddaughter, Thanina Gyamfua Mahama, congratulating his first son, Shafik Mahama and his wife Asma on the joyful arrival.

The new baby is the latest addition to the Mahama family.

Shafik and Asma, who got married nearly three years ago, previously welcomed their first daughter Alyazia Frema Mahama, in December 2022.
