During Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah & Gen I.K. Acheampong era National Sports Council (Authority) were in charge of managing Black Stars & National Academicals. They also appoint National team Coaches. They were so efficient and good at their work.We dominated in all Sports in Africa including even the world.Thankfully Veronica Commey and your boss are managing NSA, I expect you to transform that sector so that you take back your previous functions that GFA & other associations have hijacked.

Nowadays they have quotas even in hiring coaches. My last and funny point is, go get them players like Dede Ayew and the likes…… Cheers, Vero

Not many of the young players went on to become professional players at the highest level.
The fault has always been with the GFA. Foreign coaches are not always the best coaches. Akwesi Appiah and Otto Addo have served the country well with back to back world cup appearances. Players are players who are dying to play for Ghana but never get selected. And then there are those players who refused numerous call ups, who are now being considered. Ghana now has some exceptional players across Europe and the UK. I believe they will do well. At least I believe they will!!

Therein lies the problem with Ghana football. The fact that not a lot of the U20 players went on to play at higher professional levels says a lot of GFA's football model. GFA relies too much on foreign born players to the detriment of developing the domestic league to serve as a feeder for players to the national team. The foeeign born players, with the exception of a few, only play for Ghana when they don't called for the national teams of the countries where they were born. Also, they only want to play at the world cup. Until the country curtails its over reliance of these mercenary players, Ghana will see its fortunes in football continue to slide.
