It seems many Ghanians don't understand how major Gold mine operate. Significant All in sustaining operating cost is spent and retend here ghana. The multinational companies are listed on our very stock exchange that Ghanaians can participate. All these companies are institutional owned and not private. That is the very reason why they are effective and transparent operation.
Emotional comparison of mining towns in ghana and Johannesburg is totally misplaced. Mining companies didn't build Johannesburg, it is the government that used the funds appropriately

IF ALL GHANAIANS HAVE THIS ADON OKYERE MENTALITY, GHANA WOULD BE A MESS.
THE ADON OKYERE IS A TYPICAL "VILLAGE DRADUATE"
YOU CAN TELL IT FROM HOW HE LOOKS AND SPEAKS AND BEHAVES. THEY ARE SIGNS OF " VILLAGE UPBRINGING"

You are right, they sit in Accra and make noise on what they've no idea on. This locals taking over the mining industry is a recipe for disaster very soon the workers will be complaining. Why can't the government give locals concession to do exploration and start new mines rather trying to takeover existing ones to so greedy Ghanaians who will still go and seek investment from the people we are sacking from the industry. Mining is not banking.
