Before we rain abuses on the Medical Staff, let us find out if provisions are made for emergency Medical Services at the Hospitals at even the District Hospitals. Every serious Medical Matter is referred to KORLEBU or KATH. I have chanced to visit my family member at KORLEBU and the Medical Staff are overwhelmed with work without the adequate Medical Facilities and Medications. At KORLEBU, there are sometimes no places to put a mat for a Patient to lie on. And many a time, there are no medications available to treat patients. I don’t think that our Hospital staff are just cruel and wicked not to attend to Patients when they have the resources and medications available. Let us check out how many hours Medical Staff work in a day and you will be shocked. Let the NPP and NDC Governments improve the facilities right from the District Hospitals and employ very qualified Medical Specialists and stop playing politics with everything. How do the Medical Staff treat Patients if there are no adequate medical facilities and qualified Medical Staff.
We have all been to KORLEBU and KATH before and know how the staff are overwhelmed with work.
To those who are lashing that the Staff should be punished, put yourselves in their shoes. Go ahead and give them any sanctions for a fault that they didn’t cause. Ghana has already trained them and there are many countries in the Arab World, other African countries, and the Caribbeans who are prepared to pay them in US Dollars with better working conditions. In the end, it is Ghana which loses. Let the Medical Professionals just use one year to study French and they shall be hot market in Africa and be paid US Dollars.
Admittedly, there are a few Medical Professionals who don’t live up to expectations but do you always blame them? Have some Nurses not worked for about 18 months without being paid? Are they FATHER CHRISTMAS? Don’t they have families to take care of? Let us not jump into any hasty conclusions and make inappropriate and useless recommendations. Let our Governments do what is necessary and appropriate and stop wasting money on our Partisan and Tribal Politics. Pay the workers well and provide the infrastructure and medications and then you can sanction those officials who perform below expectations.

You can’t even reason above your nose and think like a normal Human Being. OFUI. Will you work as a Hospital Nurse for 18 months without pay? I will never do that. People who work have to be paid for the work done. OBODAMFO, do your MPs, Soldiers and Police get paid regularly? Why not the Hospital Nurses? So long as Life Expectancy keeps going higher, Ghana will always need qualified Nurses and Doctors. PRAKO. The Medical Doctors and Nurses are not Father Christmas to work for free. AVUU KOKLO.

Some of these female doctors are amongst the most snobbish, and arrogant doctors a client would meet at most of our big hospitals.
Dr Yorke , you and your fellow consultants are these passing out and supervising doctors who are there for prestige and not for humanity.
One can imagine that some of them would put up their best behaviour when they are doing locum in private facilities during daylight hours. Then they come for night duties at the government facilities already tired and want to sleep. Woe betide you to come at some ungodly hour and you face their wrath just like played out in the case of the engineer.
Dr Yorke if some doctors find the conditions in the public hospital s difficult to cope with, they should resign and move to the private sector and charge realistic fees and if they show poor attitude they would be out of work.
It is high time the doctors concentrate and stop mediocre behaviour of picking up fights with other professional groups for they should remember that there is no more any myth about being a doctor in Ghana.

Just pay the Medical Professionals appropriately and regularly. Make facilities and medications available at the hospitals to take care of emergency situations and then sanction them if they don’t perform well. How do you expect Hospital Nurses not to be paid for Eighteen months and expect them to perform creditably. Are the Hospital staff Father Christmas or they are fed on Manna for free as it was done in the Biblical times. How do such Professionals take care of their families and pay their rent. Do our MPs, Government Appointees, Soldiers, Police and Electricity and Water Service Staff not paid monthly? Don’t force us to have a situation where some Medical Staff members will decide to leave Patients behind and go home because they have worked for Eight hours. It will be unfair to blame the Hospital Staff without analyzing the situation that led to such unfortunate developments.

All the problems in the health sector are the creation of the doctors. They have succeeded in taking control over everything including management that they have no clue about. Most of them just rise through the ranks without any management training and working experiences to man big health facilities. And because they are the ones in charge, they are unable to call their own to order. They kill and cover up for themselves all the time. This time that a probe had been launched, you see the mess? They have hijacked the system and milking it dry. Most of them use public facilities to select select patients they think can pay and refer them to their private facilities. They have deals with private laboratories, some actually own them and refer lab requests to them for their self gain. Until we get doctors out of the management of our health facilities, nothing will change. Go to any typical mission hospital like those at Agogo, nkawkaw, Duayaw Nkwanta, Agoroyesum, Techiman, etc. where doctors are not the heads and see if these nonsense will happen.
Our doctors have turned themselves into leaches and draculas, sacking the blood of sick people.
I heard the GRNMA president saying they should not have put the names of the doctors and nurses out in the public, nonsense. When it is other public servants and politicians, you are quick to call them out in the public. What is special about you?
We have gotten to a point where individual responsibility must be placed on health staff for negligence instead of always going after the institutions alone. The negligent staff must suffer punitive sanctions just any person suffers for their individual liabilities. When we do that, the staff will fight their internal systems to get the right things done.
There is too much theft in the health system. They steal everything from syringes to equipment for private use and turn around to complain. If anybody steals medical consumables more than doctors and nurses, then you're the devil himself.

A time will come when doctors will decide to leave this country for you people to start treating yourselves since doctors are your enemies.
What happened to the diseased was very unfortunate and should not have happened, however playing blame games and name mentioning esp publicly is not the right way to go about it.
You people should continue letting the politicians deceive you into blaming doctors and nurses all the time since you do not want things to be fixed.
