Barbaric acts of soldiers should not be part of the democratic dispensation in Ghana.
Only in uncivilized, barbaric societies that soldiers have the freedom to maltreat civilians with impunity

I doubt that the vandals were Military Officers. I know some Military Personnel assaulted Ghanaians for no reason during the evil days of Efo Julor John Rawlings’s evil and barbaric AFRC regime. Such Soldiers were not Officers but junior soldiers like Nkwantabisa and the other Military hooligans and hoodlums who attacked and tortured the people of a Kumasi Church for having morning religious worship instead of going to undertake Cleaning Excercise.
I know that Military Officers do not even wear their Military Uniforms to town unless on official assignments. The Teachers have an Upper Hand in tracking the attackers. Let GNAT put down their Chalk and stop attending to classes and let us see how the Army and the Government will act. Let the Teachers just not go to classes and the country will be at a standstill.
The company that brought in the Military Personnel can be made to identify how the Soldiers got to the town and who gave them the permission to undertake such silly and nasty behavior.
It is unacceptable and very unfortunate that Soldiers can take the Laws into their hands and behave like animals. GES should take this matter seriously, embark on Strike Action until the Soldiers are arrested and all those attacked are compensated. The supposed Soldiers should be punished by two Ranks demotion and suspended without pay for a period of time. We are not in the Jungle AFRC days when some silly soldiers could go on rampage and fool about. I have lived in Britain, Canada and the USA for years and have never seen Soldiers who are not on an assignment and accompanied by Senior Officers walking about in town with Military Uniform and fooling around by assaulting civilians. The Commanding Officer would have been in very Hot Waters. We thank the AFRC stupid Military Government for making some of our soldiers trained to be indisciplined.

President Mahama, please let your office follow up with this. The culprits don't deserve to be in the military. They should be removed from office with immediate effect.
Thank you.

Who can save this country Ghana..my constituency be that oo..it’s like western region especially Tarkwa Nsuaem citizens are helpless but who will help our people..That wicked and useless Company GREL(Ghana Rubber Estate) has taken almost all the lands in western region especially Tarkwa-Nsuaem but as citizens of Tarkwa-Nsuaem we cannot complain because they have deployed military men into every community in Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency..it’s only in Ghana that military men will be protecting foreigners whiles beating their own citizens..I have said it and I repeat it that Africans are not suppose to be allowed to govern a country..there is a Land grab issue by this heartless GREL in most Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency and instead of the military men that are Ghanaians to support their fellow Ghanaians to get their lands back, these military men are rather protecting the foreign companies whiles beating every citizen who dares to get lands back..Charlie it’s sad..politicians have made it seem like Ghana is just Accra and May be Kumasi..u have a country of over 35million citizens, u cannot just be focusing on Accra when other places are suffering and I bet u, most of the chiefs are aware of this problem but nobody is doing anything about this..is the military not suppose to protect citizens? Why is it that in Ghana military men are constantly harassing and beating civilians..very sad situation

Do u think a Ghanaian or African citizen can go to Europe, Asia or anywhere in The world, buy more than half of certain part of Europe or Asia or wherever and then as their population is growing, they cannot get lands to build? That’s exactly what’s happening in the western region of Ghana..currently about 90% of communities in Tarkwa-Nsuaem, it doesn’t matter the amount of money u have, there is not a single plot of lands to even buy to build a house, invest in properties or do any kind of projects because all the lands has been sold to GREL whoch is solely a foreign owned company meanwhile some of these babaric politicians or chiefs don’t know that as the population of their communities are growing, people will need lands to build houses, businesses, investments etc..some of the citizens in Tarkwa-Nsuaem their homes and the rubber plantations is just a walking distance..If God has cursed Africans, then honestly am praying that The almighty God will forgive us because the way some of our politicians and traditional leaders even maltreat their own citizens is beyond madness..they do things without thinking about the future generations..they do things anyhow without thinking about the consequences..very sad
