I have always maintained that the presence of Trotros in our cities is the reason why we can't modernise our public transport system. Govt shd muster the courage to ban it, I know there will be strong opposition from GPRTU who are the reason why we have this problem. No serious private investor will put his money into this industry if this confusion persists. GPRTU can form a company or cooperative body to operate by importing bigger buses to takeover from the Trotros.

The transport union members 'provide' a lot of votes at elections. Perhaps, this has been a 'factor' which determines the way our various Governments have been dealing them, year after year, and election after election.

I am rather surprised that our governments do not take any measures to prevent or end the “ MENACE “ of the “TROTRO” problems. I am Not really sure why?? What is really the problem of “FLOODING ” the country with “PUBLIC Transport BUSES? Most of these TROTRO Vehicles are not even “ROADWORTHY “. Some are dirty , uncomfortable and extremely DANGEROUS yet they are on our Roads. Some of the Drivers are so unbelievably stupid ,Lawless , careless and dangerous. Who are the real owners of these “ UNTOUCHABLE “ rickety and dangerous TROTRO vehicles on our ROADS ? Are they connected with members of Our police, military , security services, government appointees etc…? Get Rid of all these Dangerous Vehicles on our Roads and replace them with “BUSES” bought by our governments for our comfort , security and safety.

Lawyer,John Mahama's mindset is that he will not touch anything NPP touched he did that before and doing so in worse form now NPP touched railways so no,Agenda111 so they should rot,Accra/Kumasi,Tema/Aflao,Accra/Takoradi,with his track record he can't finish these roads but say he wants to build Accra/Kumasi Expressway, this is not foolishness it is criminal negligence and deliberate wanton dissipation of funds.NPP acquired the buses in use now so they went to Egypt for different buses with capacity close to MB 207 for intra-city transport, Eiii John Mahama, hmmm. We had alternative but opted for this.

I also do not understand why the buses are still parked at the yards. This does not make any sense. The transport minister must quickly act on this before the people hit the street in demonstration all over the country.

Please the topic raised by the lawyer is a crucial national development issue that we must resolve collectively.Let's all focus primarily on solving the problem and getting everyone to take government work seriously as if one's life depends on that. We'll have time to play politics later. The government of the day is definitely doing well in some sectors as it's been a trend since the beginning of the 4th Republic. In reality our common interest is to see real ,raw and innovative positive change in all aspects of our lives produced by one party called Ghana.Hiding behind political parties to justify good or bad events is not helping anyone.Even the leadership of major political have demonstrated on many occasions that, for their own benefits, they could tacitly agree to sacrifice the national interest or vice versa. So why should any committed citizen continue to look at every national trouble with a political prism.
