I agree with you. How can we be subjecting our young kids to this kind of mental torture. Something urgently needs to be done about this

What kind of stupid comparison is this. No wonder University graduates these days are dummies if they are taught by dummies like this. You believe in people waiting until exam period before they learn.
What a shame

I have spoken about this thing for a very long time, but no one has heard me because I am a nobody. Thank you Sir, for raising this matter for national attention. It's really cruel and backward. A paper per day is reasonable.

Forcing kids to write external exams and making it as the only means to further their education at SHS is a big mistake on the society. It is the reason why there is so much cheating in our exams.Students are passing not based on merit. Just check what's happening at WASSCE and it continues to our universities. Gone were the days in the 70s,80s & 90s, any undergraduate student can easily pick chalk and go to Secondary schools and teach. Currently there are many of our Graduates who cannot teach even at the JHS levels. The same is happening at our companies, it takes a lot of years to train these Graduates on the job bcoz of the bad education they had.

Ghana, I think the current educational reform is going to take our children to heaven.
It's even going to make them the most relevant wonderful people on this planet.
In the past, only four subjects are examined at the end of ten year basic education. Namely, Mathematics, English, History and Geography, yet there are beautiful scholars. Today, the reform rather produce half baked scholar who can't do anything

I was only 15 years old when I wrote these exams. To make matters more difficult we were the very first batch of our school to write this exam. The Middle School Leaving Certificate of 4 subjects (English, maths ,geography and history) were written in one day, before BECE came. And it was always a great day.
We can still make adjustments for the current students.

It doesn't make sense at all to continue to subject our future leaders to such 'cruelty'. Why can't the exams be scheduled for 3 weeks. Is it becos of small extra allowances to be paid exams officials?. We must all bow our heads in shame for looking on for this injustice to be done to our innocent kids

But for modernity sake, two weeks will be laudable.

I couldn't agree with you more. The lecturer is talking as if he doesn't know the circumstances under which Common Entrance and Middle School Leaving Certificate examinations were written. All four papers were written in less than 10 hours. But l think it makes sense to review the current nature of BECE, by making it one paper a day.
