The Millennium Supporters Union of Ghana (MSUG) has reacted to allegations of foul play in the death of Israel Ashitei Kamoah, one of its members, whom it reportedly took to South Africa in March 2026.
According to multiple reports, the family of Ashitei Kamoah, a graduate of the Accra Technological University, has alleged that his organs were harvested while he was in South Africa.
A report by Ablade TV indicated that after the mortal remains of the deceased were flown back to Ghana and deposited at the LEKMA Mortuary, it was allegedly discovered that his heart, lungs and liver were missing, which raised suspicion among the family members.
Speaking on the matter in a recent interview on Accra FM, the leader of the MSUG refuted the allegations that parts of the body of the deceased were harvested.
He said that every part of the dead body can be accounted for, adding that the family of the deceased was present when he was being transferred to Ghana.
“When the body arrived, my organiser confirmed to me that no part of the body had been taken out. His hands, eyes were intact, unless maybe his intestines (are not there), but I don’t know.
“The organiser was there, the grandfather of the deceased was there, nothing has been taken away. The body is at LEKMA now, you can come to the morgue and confirm this,” he said.
He added, “The body is at LEKMA, it has never been hidden. And it was not only one person who went for the body. His mother was part of the people who brought it back. They said the body was harvested. They should tell you the part of the body that was harvested, so you can come and confirm.”
About the death of Israel Ashitei Kamoah:
Israel Ashitei Kamoah died in South Africa in late March 2026 after he travelled to the country in search of greener pastures.
According to multiple reports, Ashitei Kamoah travelled to South Africa on March 25, 2026, on a trip allegedly organised by the Millennium Supporters Union of Ghana.
A report by Ablade TV, which cited family sources, stated that the deceased was allegedly lured to join the trip by a woman identified as Edith, who reportedly handled his passport, visa and flight arrangements.
According to the Ablade TV report, the family of the victim stated that Edith told their son to keep the trip secret, promising him a ticket to the South Africa versus Panama football match, along with possible job opportunities.
The report indicated that a day before his demise, on March 30, 2026, Ashitei Kamoah gave details of the woman to his cousin, including her phone number and name.
The deceased reportedly told his cousin that Edith works at the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority and that if anything happens to him, his father should hold her responsible.
The mortal remains of the deceased were reportedly flown back to Ghana on April 1, 2026, with the organisers of the trip stating that a South African post-mortem report described his death as suicide.
