The Konongo Odumase M/A Basic School community in the Eastern Region has been thrown in a state of mourning following the death of two teachers on the same day.

The double tragedy is said to have left the entire community devastated and in shock.

According to a post shared on social media by Jasper Ziggle on April 28, 2026, the male teacher, identified as Francis Aguah, was unwell during the vacation period.

However, he passed away on the day school officially reopened, turning the first day of the term into a day of mourning.

Following his demise, a female teacher, Grace Stepheny, is said to have collapsed in the staff common room after hearing the tragic news.

She was subsequently rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at the health facility.
