The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, and the Police Management Board (POMAB) have expressed condolences to the family of former IGP Paul Tawiah Quaye following his passing.

The message was shared on the official X page of the Ghana Police Service on April 27, 2026.

“IGP and POMAB commiserate with the family of the late former IGP, Mr Paul Tawiah Quaye, at his residence,” the post noted.

Paul Tawiah Quaye passed away on April 23, 2026, at the age of 73.

He was appointed Inspector-General of Police in 2009 by the late President John Evans Atta Mills.

During his time in office, he was known for introducing a number of reforms aimed at rebuilding public trust in the police service and promoting high standards of professionalism among officers.

He retired from the Service in 2013 after decades of dedicated service.
