The citizens are gradually developing new tastes for imported products, by the time this cedi stabilization is over, we might have increased our foreign goods taste and will be chasing dollars to continue satisfying such desires.

Absolutely! Importers are using cheap forex to bring goods and make healthy profits whilst exporters have had their income slashed by 35% whilst costs are either the same or increase. Most export businesses do not have a 35%+ profit margin and will struggle to survive. Most timber exporters are selling overland or locally rather than for forex at shifty rates! This will end badly!

Disinflation at a significant cost to Bank of Ghana, good, the Ghanaian citizens comes first, we have to protect life at all cost, that must be the number one goal of Bank of Ghana. Interest is dangerously too high, it should come down below 10% and the exchange rate is also too high, it should've been 1 US Dollar to 5 Cedis by now.

Tutu, the Governor told the whole world that he has pumped $10billion to keep the cedi afloat, this amount in the hands competent economic manager would do wonders but it has been squandered to create a false image of better economic management, let Dr Asiamah leave the cedi alone for just three month without steriods(US $ sales to banks) for Ghanaians to know how competent he and Ato Forson are.The challenges Cocobod is currently facing are their own making,by reducing the cedi/$ rate from ghc15 to ghc10 ,the Governor with a stroke of his pen reduced the export earnings of exporters inçluding Cocobod by 33-34%,how will they pay the the cost of their inputs? The so-called stabilisation of the cedi is just sales of US dollars to banks to satisfy the appetite of importers and reduce pressure on the cedi, any first degree economics holder can do thus, the real cost is the galamsey destruction of our environment, this is what majority of Ghanaians voted for so we have it and it's just postponement of our economic structural challenges to the next government. If you eat cheap imported rice know that it is your environment you are eating.

What is the significance of low inflation? Having low inflation with stable exchange rate yet basic necessities like water and electricity keep rising does not make economic sense.
The BoG should allow the interplay of economic activities to determine exchange rate, interest rates and inflation most of the time by limiting the interventions that is how true state of the economy will reflect the lives of the households and experience real economic growth. The manipulation especially with the determination of exchange rate by the BoG is counter productive.

Yes, Asiamah, those of us who have some little economic background knew that the "FAKE" artificial facelift of the CEDI and the forceful reduction of inflation came with the "$10billion" cost that you flushed into the dustbin while you cannot pay cocoa farmers and government workers so, what sense did that exercise make?
