The families of the two victims who lost their lives in the recent microlight aircraft crash in Tema Community 1 have appealed to the public to grant them space to mourn their loss.
According to a report by 3news.com, the request was made in a statement issued by the President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Albert Dwumfuor, on behalf of the families on March 21, 2026.
"With a heavy heart of loss, the Wettey and Donkor families announce the passing of our beloved sons, Captain Frank Amoanyi Donkor and Elijah Ofori Donkor, following the tragic microlight aircraft crash at Tema Community 1 on March 16, 2026.

“Frank and Elijah were not just sons of Elder and Mrs Frank Donkor; they were bright lights within our families, full of promise, warmth, and life', the statement said.
According to the families, the loss has been extremely difficult for them.
They further disclosed that details of the funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course.
They also commended the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), and other state agencies for their swift and professional response following the incident.

The GCAA confirmed that the microlight aircraft, with registration number 9GADV, crashed in Tema while en route from Ho.
The aircraft was reported to have last made radio contact at 1418 Z, with two persons on board.
