An eyewitness of the tragic helicopter crash at Tema Comm 1 on March 16, 2026, has expressed his frustration at bystanders who failed to help with rescue efforts but rather chose to record the scene.

Appiah Kumi, who shared his account in a viral TikTok post, said he was there at the crash site and saw how everything happened.

He narrated how he faced the daunting task of saving some school children nearby the accident scene.

According to him, the two occupants of the helicopter could have survived if not for the insensitivity of some early witnesses of the crash.

“I really got angry with one woman because instead of helping take the children to a safer place, she was rather taking videos of the scene,” Kumi fumed.

He explained that despite his quick response to rescue the children, he couldn’t make it back on time to save the victims in the mangled aircraft.

“If I had gotten help from the onlookers who stood aloof and take videos of the incident the moment it happened, the victims too would have survived. But people were more interested in filming than helping,” he said.

Panic swept through Tema Community 1 after a Sky Arrow microlight helicopter crashed into a school compound on Monday afternoon, March 16, 2026, which left two people dead.

The incident reportedly occurred around 3:30 pm at Site 18 at the busy residential area, where the aircraft is said to have gone down inside a school park.
