  The NPP is trying hard to use this Cocoa pricing saga as some Political chip to win favour from Farmers. They should be careful it does not backfire and rather dim their chances of ever coming back to power in the future. The simple truth is that, one, they messed up the Cocoa Industry terribly, ever in the history of Cocoa farming in Ghana when given the opportunity. Everything about Cocoa went down under the NPP and the farmers can testify to that. Secondly we all know and including the farmers that Cocoa prices depend on the world market price and Ghana is not insulated from this as is our neighbours Ivory Coast whose pricing is even worse than the Ghana situation. So will this so called tour to know the concerns of the Cocoa farmer not smack of some political HYPOCRISY.Sadly the focus is on the Ashanti Region which makes this enterprise the more silly and suspicious, are Cocoa farmers only from the Ashanti Region.I would advise the NPP minority in Parliament to sit down and really look within to see what has gone wrong with their party that has made them so so unattractive to have lost an election so terribly across the length and breadth of the country ( never in the history of Ghana politics).As for this tour it will just be a waste of precious time and energy.
