The Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has disclosed that the former Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, will be officially charged in the coming weeks.
This follows an investigation into the former minister's involvement in the purchase of Sputnik V vaccines and the Frontiers Healthcare Services deal during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking on TV3’s The KeyPoints on March 14, 2026, Kwakye Ofosu stated that the investigating body, the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), has handed the case to the Attorney General for the next line of action.
‘They said I would be locked up, but I’m still here after a year’ – Agyemang-Manu
“The former Health Minister Kwaku Agyemang-Manu will be charged in the coming weeks over the Sputnik V vaccine purchase and Frontiers Healthcare Services deal. EOCO has handed over the docket to the Attorney General for prosecution,” he said.
Earlier, in an interview on JoyNews on March 10, 2026, Kwakye Ofosu revealed that Agyemang-Manu was arrested and interrogated by the state in 2025.
The former health minister was arrested and interrogated by the National Intelligence Bureau over allegations of corruption against him while he (Agyemang-Manu) was in office.
“I noticed that he's been in the news, engaging in bluster and claiming that nobody has touched me. That is not true. He was arrested. He was interrogated, questioned, and cautioned. There are two dockets in respect of him: the Sputnik V case and then the COVID-19 frontier case.
“So, in the next few weeks, the Attorney General will be taking him to court, and he will charge him formally,” he disclosed.

Agyemang-Manu was tipped to face prosecution for signing a contract for COVID-19 vaccines without parliamentary approval.
He is reported to have admitted to failing to seek Cabinet approval before engaging a private individual for the procurement of Sputnik V vaccines to manage Ghana's COVID-19 cases.
