  What, Mr. Akuffo Addo 'served the Republic with distinction'? You must be having a laugh. The Akuffo Addo/Bawumia regime was the most corrupt, arrogant, insensitive, clueless, inept, pathetic and useless one we have experienced in the Fourth Republic. It is, arguably, the most hopeless government in our country's history since independence. Even putting aside apologies and acknowledgement from multiple senior figures from that regime, the disaster that was wrought by the Akuffo Addo regime is yet to be fully known. They destroyed, not only, Ghana but the NPP party as a credible, stoic, organised and somewhat cohesive party that Mr. Akuffo Addo inherited from Mr. Kuffuor.
