Controversial Ghanaian counsellor and media personality, Cyril George Carstensen Lutterodt, popularly known as Counsellor Lutterodt, has been arrested by the Ghana Police Service.
Multiple reports on social media on Monday, March 9, 2026, indicated that Counsellor Lutterodt had been apprehended and detained by the police for allegedly inciting violence and engaging in conduct likely to cause unrest in the community.
One viral post on the matter showed the counsellor in handcuffs at what appeared to be a police station.
According to the report, Counsellor Lutterodt, during a media discussion, allegedly urged Ga youth to exhume the mortal remains of the late Highlife legend, Daddy Lumba, from his residence in East Legon.

He reportedly made the statement claiming that the late musician was buried at an unapproved location on Ga land.
He further argued that the decision by the late musician’s family was disrespectful to Ga traditions and that the youth should take immediate action.
Following his arrest, netizens have taken to social media to express mixed reactions.
While some have thrown their support behind the counsellor, others have applauded the Ghana Police Service for taking swift action.
