  Good initiative. Ghana must set the standards for the gold miners and all other stakeholders to follow. Switzerland, and UAE don’t produce gold but they have the biggest gold refinery plants in the world. This shift in policy can only be good for the country. Now what these multinational companies are going to do is incur losses in their operations and pay little or no tax at all. The Ghana regulatory authorities should focus on such losses and transfer pricing policies of these multinational companies.

  It may be a great idea to nationalise our mineral resources but you can't trust the Ghanaian managers. They'll run it down and steal all the cash. We're not like the Arabs.

  Excellent move, you cannot be the richest country on earth, and be made artificially poor with over 60 percent of your citizens living in abject poverty. We have what the world desperately needs, gold,and it is in abundance, so why are we poor? Simple, the slave masters created a system for us to be poor for life, stealing our minerals for free, a system of rampant corruption in the country, abuse of power by our leaders, no checks and balances, and developing the country with inferior materials, roads lasting for 4 years, and crazy policies that does not benefit the people.
