  Mr president, your MCEs and DCEs are not working, they are not protecting home owners. I am referring specifically to TEMA WEST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY ( TWMA). They allow people from elsewhere to put kiosks and metal containers at places where they are not supposed to. All these causing security risk, environmental and other risks. With impunity these squaters claimed the assembly authorized them to place e the containers and kiosks there. The MCE and those appointed to work on these kinds of lawlessness should wake up from their slumber. We pay property taxes every year. They cannot just pay themselves with our hard earned money only to let us be cramped in our holes.Some of these unauthorized structures sit right on fire hydrants. In case of emergencies, where ambulances can pass, where fire trucks can pass are all encroached upon. It's the assembly's job to exercise their powers. Thank you.

  Issue of unauthorised kiosks and containers is an issue all over Accra. The authorities look on failing to enforce by laws and instead collect chop chop. Kiosks and containers then turn into full blown buildings as if it is legal with the authorities just conniving with the illegal squatters. Just look at Kofi Annan Street near Nyaho Clinic. That whole road has been encroached and turned from illegal kiosks to complete buildings
