  When was the FMI was established? Was it in existence when the NPP was in power, when the Education Minister stripped teachers of all measures of discipling students? Was the FMI in existence when Parents-Teachers-Associations were banned? Or the FMI didn't have sny spokesperson during those years? Probably it was established by persons from the Akan speaking areas of the country, where people stupidly say NPP is their party and so deem everything the party does as good.   Jato Rawlings was the source of the appalling indiscipline in the Ghanaian society today. Have we so soon forgotten his revolutionary slogan We no go sit down make them cheat we everyday ‘. where junior officers and junior public servants were encouraged to disrespect and defy their senior officers? This is the cause of the disrespect and contempt children show to their parents we see today in Ghana.

  What these students are doing has got nothing to do with what happened in 1979/81. They were not even alive those times. What is happening is the total breakdown of parental discipline from home. Their parents thought the free SHS was a package where the school takes full responsibilty of their childrens moral compass. This is a serious nationwide pandemic. Its every citizens responsibility to help ensure we get it right. All guilty students should be sent to a miltary barracks as a form of juvenile reform to learn what discipline is, respect for authority. A 12 week boot camp in a miltary camp will solve the issue. On release they need to spend a supervised week going to prisons to hear what life behind bars mean if discipline, respect and taking responsibilty is ignored.

  So called civilization is the root cause of indiscipline in our schools. The government is also a major factor.
  In our days, students were disciplined for lateness,improper dressing, unkempt hair, not attending church or mosque, failure to do assignments,repeating for poor academic performance , disrespect or even going out after 7pm. Canning was the instance punishment to scare students but so called human rights activists and the government has thrown this values in the waste bins. Let us go back to the wisdom in the Bible; spare the rod, spoil the child

  These students were all put onto the conveyor belt of free JHS/SHS to congregate in schools for the sake of free education. Most of their parents thought parental responsibility for discipline was also part of the free Nana lilipucian's government fast tracked policy of free education that had no goals. Lack of discipline, ownership and responsibility in schools that was passed on from the parents to school authorities was a major blow to the discipline we saw in schools before 2000. No school or student was perfect during those times but discipline was very much respected. Seems most of these students are on another level of tramadol. The point also is when such stupid students are disciplined by the school authorities, the parents make phone calls to top networks they know and the teacher or headmaster is transfered by education service. . Lets debate as a country on how students should be disciplined in schools, plus how parents school be held accountable for their childrens behaviour in school. Also grouping 24yrs plus with teenagers and minors is a huge issue. My time in school at 19yrs you have sat your A levels. The system isnt working. 24yr old + should attend polytechnics or workers college. Not mix matured adults with minors and teenagers in boarding schools. Please l know we all need a lifeline to education but lets think carefully about this for the safety of all students. Lets grade the school system by age. There should be a cut off age where you cant be in SHS / JHS Boarding school.

  How many of us can live a day without the phones and remember news spread faster through social media than the yesteryears when we were growing up.
  
  Back in the days, how many radio stations we have in Ghana, it is only GBC 1&2, and what about today? Just imagine what they spread across the country. Civilization comes with some good and bad things, and the worse had just started.

Common sense tells us that planting “Tomatoes “ is not everything but taking “Good care” of it after planting will yield better results . Very simple!!
