But Ivory Coast has decided to do what Ghana always did before this president Abusa decided to take away a third share of farmers’ income. The Ivory Coast government has decided to continue paying 3600. That is the right thing to do. This is not the first time cocoa prices have fallen. Like the Ivory Coast, Ghana governments have always absorbed the loss to maintain confidence in the cocoa growing sector.
Unlike you, I’m actually a hands-on cocoa farmer. 2028 is not far away. And contrary to what president Abusa said about us having short memories, we farmers have long memories! And we are going to chew the leaves and roots of “twantin, kraman kote, kwaatemaa, sonsromansa, ogyama, onwama” and all the other potent plants to make sure that we remember. At any rate, after actually dipping his hands into our pockets and our abosuo and making away with a third of our income, how does president Abusa expect us to forget?
When the NDC comes campaigning in 2028, we farmers from Abrewanko, Pantimpa, Cocoa Akesiemu, AKookosu, Mramraso, Abakobon etc will pay you back.
We have a saying that “abaa yede bo Takyi no, eno ara na yede bo Baah.
