Common sense economics will tell you that when the world market prices go up then it stands to reason to pay farmers accordingly however when it goes down you do not continue to pay them at the previous price when it was up, so again you pay according to the price changes.Is this what some political opportunists are refusing to see. If we continue this way we will end up with huge debts like the NPP incurred before 2025.

I see this as Kwaku ananse story. The salary cuts whose pocket is it going, the farmers or who ? This is not going to satisfy the farmers neither to today nor tomorrow. It was emphatic promise made to shame the then gov't and now you see the mess created? What made the gov't increase the cocoa price even though the inherited debt was there ? Apart from farmers, the gov't can't do this to any serious professional organisation like GNAT, CETAG, UTAG etc never. Farmers don't have a mouthpiece otherwise this matter would not have died anytime soon. It has become like 'fa ma nyame ' and it's a shame on the part of the gov't. Didn't they know that the price of cocoa is determined by external forces and it fluctuates?

Did the problem arise because the Cocobod executives' salaries are too high? Will the amount obtained from the reduction solve the problem? Why do we behave as if we had never gone to school? If we do not get to the bottom of the issue and strategise to prevent future occurrences, even if the Cocobod executives take no salaries, we will face a similar situation again. If people think a salary reduction for execitives is what will resolve the problem, then the president, the minister, and all civil and public service officials should get a salary cut. Ghanafuo, we should stop that emotional nonsense and use our brains. During the 2013-14 cocoa season when price fell on the world market under former president Mills of blessed memory, he and his finance minister, did not force cocobod executives to slash their salaries rather, they took money from what is known as "Export Duty Share" to cushion the situation.

Kwabena Dufour is alive so, why can't Randy Abbey, who on radio station, thinks that he has answers to everything that moves on the planet contact him for solution?

So, anytime the price of cocoa fall on the international market, cocobod executives will have to slash their salaries? What kind of stupidity is that?

Now, what is "Export Duty Share"? This is an amount given to the seller by the buyer just for selling cocoa because the cocoa is needed internationally. Now, when the price of cocoa falls, nations that sells cocoa can use some money from the "Export Duty Shares" to maintain the price being paid to the farmers rather than reducing the money being paid to them as John "Kwasea" Mahama has done. Mahama ye aboa. Trust me, commonsense has eluded Mahama.

Why didn't Ivory Coast reduce the price being paid to her farmers but Ghana because John Mahama thinks some of us have no idea about that export duty shares and he will use that money to have sex, foolish guy.
