Senchi Economic Forum and its aftermath comes to mind. Madam Akua Donkor will sorely be missed this time. Anyway, I think some of the members of this economic advisory group need some rest. They seem to be mentally exhausted, and can no longer “think far”, having been around our economic quagmire (directly and indirectly in public, private and advisory roles) for a long while. Let’s be mindful of the negative effects of:
(1) Tall bureaucratic structures;
(2) Duplication of existing roles and functions;
(3) Poor and thin allocation of scare resources; and
(4) The laws of diminishing marginal returns and diminishing marginal utility.
As we continue to create additional bureaucratic structures, in a bid to satisfy everybody unnecessarily.
