Residents in several regions of Ghana have been advised to prepare for scheduled power interruptions next week as the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) undertakes planned maintenance works aimed at improving service delivery.
According to a report by myjoyonline.com, the operation will begin on Sunday, February 8, and continue through Friday, February 13, 2026.
Temporary outages will affect communities in Accra East, Accra West, Central, and the Tema regions.
The most extensive single outage is scheduled for the Tema Region on Thursday, February 12,2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

A notice dated Tuesday, February 10, 2026 listed affected areas including: Yilo & Lower Manya Krobo, Adukrom, Booster Station, Akorley Pumping Station, Akuse, Asutsuare, Golden Exotics, Volivo, Osuwem, Commandos Military Training Camp, Stone Lodge, Shine Field, Akrade, Senchi, Atimpoku, Adomi, Juapong, Akwamufie, Frankadua, Nudu, Kisifui, Apeguso, Volo, Anum, Boso, Osiabura, Mpakadan, Okwenya, Teye Kwame, Manyajokpanya, Glamour Farms and surrounding areas. ECG expressed regret for the inconvenience.
In Accra East, staggered outages will occur across multiple days. On Sunday, February 8, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., areas such as GIMPA, Kisseman, Achimota School, Christian Village, North Dzorwulu, Golf Hills, Achimota Forest, parts of Abelemkpe, Westland, and nearby communities will be affected.
Additional works are planned for Tuesday, February 10, 2026: (Borteyman, Bawaleshie, Okponglo town, East Legon Acheampong Junction); Wednesday, February 11, 2026 (Lakeside Estate Com.6, 8 & 9, New Legon Hills, Teiman Junction, SDA, Ankonam Farms, Oyarifa town); and Thursday, February 12, 2026 (Tutu, Obosomase, Mampong Cabbage Junction).
A separate maintenance exercise on Monday, February 9,2026 will affect North Dzorwulu, Lancet Laboratory, Mensvic Hotel, Ghana Link, Agbogba School Park, Academic City, Boshye DVLA, and Boshye Narhman.
In Accra West, a major outage is planned for Wednesday, February 11,2026 covering Fadama, Kwashieman, Nyamejye, Darkuman, Abeka, Lapaz, Tabora, Race Course, Kwashiobu, Chantan, Hansonic, Dansoman Junction, Mallam Junction, McCarthy, Choice, Sampa Valley, Alogboshie, Achimota Neoplan, Benjilo, Manhean, and Oduman. Other outages will affect Abease, Achiama, Obeyeyie, Ayikai Doblo, and Akramaman on Thursday, February 12, 2026; New Bortianor and Red Top on Friday, February 13, 2026; and Nsumia on Monday, February 9.
