A man impersonating a National Security operative, who is accused of extorting GH¢100,000 from unsuspecting victims in Kumasi, has been arrested by authorities.

A video shared on X on February 5, 2026, showed the suspect using counterfeit National Security letterheads while promising protection from detention to his targets.

During the interrogation, an officer questioned the suspect, asking, "What made you pose as a National Security officer? Where did you get the National Security letterhead?"

He also inquired about the total funds collected, to which the suspect admitted, "I took GH¢65,000 from one victim. Later, she brought GH¢25,000. She still owes me GH¢35,000 right now?"

When asked about a specific victim named Portia, the interrogator inquired about the amount she provided.

The suspect stated, "She gave me GH¢60,000."

The video showed what was a tense interrogation process, revealing the suspect’s visible injuries as he continued to confess to his involvement with various victims.

The unnamed suspect then claimed to have returned GH¢60,000 of the extorted funds.

The officer interrogating the suspect concluded the session by stating, "I will not detain him ahead of his court appearance."
