It's one thing to pass the law and another thing to implement it. This is where we always fall short compared to the advanced industrialized countries. One of the major problems confronting us Africans is our inability to implement the laws governing us hence the chaos and the lawlessness we see around us daily. Investors are afraid to invest in Africa because they perceive us (among other things) as very unorganized, chaotic, untrustworthy, and not law abidding people.

The law should be made in such a way that any affected individuals can sue whoever breaks the law, together with police and the district council.

Thanks, but let it not become another paper tiger. Enough, many are dying because of excessive noise making, especially medicine sellers, religious groups and bar operators. I welcome such a law.

This is highly endorsed. Some of the charismatic churches are disturbing our sleep. They make too much noise meanwhile their motivation is the money they collect from church members but not salvation. They shouldn't be allowed to disturb our peace in their bid to do their fraudulent business. I am earnestly looking forward to the bill and l wish it addresses the problem.

The majority and the minority in parliament do not represent the citizens, they represent themselves. Majority leader said that the country and its surroundings are polluted with noise, and the other, Minority leader said that there are no jobs for young people. Are these people really serious? These two politicians drive their cars through the city of Accra and to their workplaces every day. They see the piles of rubbish and the strong odour everywhere, they see how the drains are blocked, they see how the whole environment is polluted, Why is this not being discussed in Parliament? The welfare of citizens is completely disregarded in any parliamentary debate. Parliament should not be a place to show off academic standards or titles, but a place to prove one's service to the nation.
Environmental cleanup can temporarily and permanently create many jobs for the youth at every level, but then the government must be prepared to make sacrifices. There are jobs in Ghana, but who pays the workers when the work is done? "Agbogbolosi" is an example of this pollution, mountains of waste, amalgamation and the incineration of toxic substances. NPP, NDC you are both the same. Smoking in public places is prohibited, but what citizens inhale every day on Ghana's streets is more deadly than just smoking. The job is here, give it to the youth and pay him!
