English is the language of innovation, the language of instruction in any conceivable field of human advancement with a vocabulary strength of over one million words, which therefore makes it the language of opportunity. That is why it is a prerequisite to every higher ladder of education. Twi, which is the most widely spoken language in Ghana has not more that a thousand words. Haruna stop this sentimental nonsense. All our local languages will soon go the way other non evolving languages went - extinction. Sad but that's the reality.

Mind you, a consummate sheepish person, that Russia never used english in their innovation journey having been the first country to send a man to space. South Koreans are innovation giants right now, yet they don’t use English as a medium of instruction in schools. The Chinese are science and technology power house today and a manufacturing hub of the world. China is also the second largest economy after the United States, yet again they don’t use English as a medium of instruction in their schools. Look at Germany, France, Denmark, the Netherlands, the lists go on. So in a nutshell, you are just a slave and comfortable in that slavery space and you don’t value your own.

You can continue to get emotional about your dialects but they are just not competitive. Please give me the basic translation of the following basic terms in any local dialects:
1. Electron
2. Voltage
3. Electrolysis
4. Osmosis
5. Potential difference.
You can't even study basic science in any local language.

The Gas are not bothered by that trend. Their only objection will be if the person is an Asante. This is a fact. They are mostly concerned with names of places and Akwaaba is a good example. Ohene Djan Sports stadium was a big issue for them because they thought he was an Ashanti. The MP who just passed away was a northerner and the wife is vying to replace him. That is never their concern so far as he is not Ashanti. Please stop the noise making about this AI issue because the next two languages that will be added are Hausa and Nzema. Then Frafra and Sefwi will follow. They will compensate you by changing the names of Kotoka airport and Jubilee House.

So I stopped and since then I’ve never made any attempt to learn the language. I think Ga language is will die in the next twenty years because the Ga people themselves prefer speaking English to Ga, and moreover there aren’t enough Ga language teachers available in the country.
