  The headline states the opposite of the professor's intent. He is rather urging government to leverage the proliferation of malls, especially foreign owned ones, to boost local industrial production. For instance, Chinese companies should be encouraged to set up factories in Ghana to supply the growing number of China Malls instead of importing everything from China.

  Subsidise petrol to make it cost less, this will drive down prices and encourage alot and alot job creation, more consumer spend for you to make your money back through taxation.
  Ghanaians will have alot to money left to save for projects.
  It also strengthens the cedi against the dollar, inflation...so you don't need to artificially pump billions of dollars to create artificial strong cedi. Instead use it to subsidise petrol. Cedi will stabilise naturally.
  They focused on dollar and not petrol and wonder why economy never worked.
  You get 2 for 1 bargain..Ghana what are we doing struggling? lack of knowledge

  I can only agree with this sentiment. Malls over rely on imports and contribute to the overuse of plastics. Glad that someone has finally woken up to this issue. Any future malls must have 50% indigenous Ghanaian brands. Ghanaian businesses thst cannot afford the high rents should club together.
