Peter, Peter, Peter Lamptey was an exceptional striker back in the days when strikers were scarce. He formed a great partnership with Jones Attuquayefio at Great Olympics and later became part of the fearsome fivesome of Accra Hearts of Oak. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

Maestro, he was one of the finest strikers in those days. The fans filled the stadium just to watch him and the fearsome four.

The writer has shown that he either did not do a fair research or he was just being bias. Peter Lamptey was more of Accra Great Olympics than of Accra Hearts of Oak. He was a novice when he started at Accra Great Olypmpics. A hundred metres runner who somehow moved to Football. It was Alex Asiedu, the then Coach of Olympics who saw the talent in him and showed extraordinary interest in him. Jones Attuquayefio who was the Captain developed a relationship with him. As Jones drew opponents to himself he would either throw his left in a swing or shout "Peter yaa"meaning "Peter go". Peter left Olympics for Hearts of Oak at a time when it was usual for players moving from Hearts to Olympics and vice versa when they peak time begin to decline.

I wonder how Ghana never made it to the world cup during those glorious days. I believe government CORRUPTION is behind the failure. RIP, ma broda.
